River Hills Lodge celebrates the life of owner, Harold W. Steele

On February 24, 2011, the owner of River Hills Lodge and our dear friend, Harold, passed away after a year long battle with cancer. Harold was our inspiration. Our motivation. The lodge is a pure reflection of his personality. His love for quality. His respect for the land and wildlife. His appreciation for beauty, uniqueness and all things western!

River Hills Lodge will be taking reservations for the upcoming hunting season but with a limited number of groups and hunt dates. Our season will run from late September through November. If you're driving in take Interstate 90 West of Sioux Falls and Highway 45 South for 25 miles to Platte. We're located just 1 mile west of Platte, 2.5 miles south. For the hunters traveling by air we provide airport pick up from Mitchell or Sioux Falls.
